What is Medicine Lake Sailing Club?
We're a small sailing club on Medicine Lake, with approximately 50 members, and with one common interest: We want to sail well, race, and enjoy the sport. Our members are at all levels of experience and ability. You will be sailing with experts and beginners.
If you’re an expert and love competition, but not contention, you’ve found a home.
Where do we sail?
Medicine Lake is in Plymouth, Minnesota; a western Twin Cities suburb.
Club headquarters is at the French Park sailboat docks on the north side of Medicine Lake.
When do we race?
Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM
Sunday afternoons at 1:00 PM
The season starts on the second Sunday in May.

We race… On Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons and special race series on holiday weekends.
We learn… from each other.
We socialize… during racing days and at special social events throughout the year.
Opportunities

Crewing on other people’s boats.
Trophies and recognition for improvement.
Having fun sailing!
What kinds of boats sail with MLSC?
Most of our boats are Flying Scots. Our Flying Scot fleet is part of the Flying Scot Midwest District. Visit the Midwest District blog for more information about the District. Our fleet is also registered with the Flying Scot Sailing Association.
We also have members who sail MC-Scows.
And we have an Open Class fleet where virtually any type of sailboat can race. Races in this fleet are judged with handicap based on basic boat speed.
